1. What is meant by the term "Reproducible Copy" or "Vellums" ?
When a Home plan service refers to "Reproducible copies" or "Vellums", They are referring to the type of paper your Home plans will be printed on. The interesting thing to note here is that "Reproducible copies" or "Vellums" are obsolete for the most part. Due to the prevalence of Oversize or Engineering Xerox machines. A "Vellum" is a thick opaque semi-transparent sheet of paper used, in the old days, for drafting all sorts of plans from Airplanes to Oil Rigs and Of course Home plans or Buildings. In this day and age "Vellums" have been replaced by "Xerox" copies. Xerox copies are also referred to as bond copies.
2. What are "Construction Documents" for a Home ?
Construction Documents for a Home are drawings or diagrams. These drawings are drawn to scale to allow measuring the various elements of the Home or Building. So, a Company can quantify the materials they need to provide to erect the building or provide some other support aspect of the building. You can think of Construction Documents as an order made by the Home buyer. In the same way, You might order a Bouquet of Flowers. In this Order, The Home Owner specifies everything that should be included in the Home, from paint to floor finishes et cetera. So, in basic terms a Construction Document is an Order.
